Established in 1938, the Housing Authority of
Atlantic City was the first community in New Jersey to provide public housing to
low income families. The Agency presently operates 1,400 multi-family dwellings
and is the Contract Administrator for 153 dwellings not owned by the Agency.
The ACHA administers 800 Housing Choice Vouchers. The ACHA also administers
First Time Home Buyer programs.
Conventional Elderly –
Families whose head or spouse is disabled or 62 years of age or older, or a
single person family consisting of a person who is disabled or 62 years of age
Assisted Living Elderly
– Families who consist of elderly or disabled persons, aged 62 years or older,
Medicaid Assisted Living eligible and a resident of New Jersey.
Conventional – Families
whose head is less than 62 years of age or a single person family consisting of
a person who is less than 62 years of age.
